ABOUT US

Dursley Pride was created in 2022 by a small bunch of volunteers. They wished to create a safe space for all LGBTQ+ individuals while highlighting the struggles the LGBTQ+ community continue to face. Dursley Pride was a monumental success with a parade taking up the entirety of the high street. Throughout the year Dursley Pride works with local businesses and organisations to create further safe spaces for people.

In 2008 I was outed in the police for being trans, at that time I distinctly realised two things, I could never put my secret back in its box and it hurt being outed, I felt my world, career and opportunities changed from that moment on. So after getting back to my sense of ‘normal’ it has been my wish, my passion and my duty, ensuring no one else endures the same hurt by progressing greater awareness for trans, non-binary, hate crime and diversity, whilst promoting equality, policy and law both within the Police but just as importantly within communities
